James Brown was arrested at age 55, after leading the police on a high-speed car chase along the Georgia and South Carolina state border. Police stopped Brown’s car by shooting out his tires, but Brown alleged that the police also shot at the body of the car and not just the tires. After being caught, James Brown was arrested and posed for this mug shot. Brown was convicted of carrying an unlicensed pistol, assaulting a police officer, drug possession, and various driving offenses. Brown was originally sentenced to six years in prison but was released in 1991 after serving only three years.
